Ok I don’t know about you all but to me weekends should be for chillin! After we took some pics I was so exhausted all I wanted was to cozy up with some Netflix and wine! Luckily my fiancé and I are usually on the same page about these things and some of my favorite nights are just sitting back and watching a good show or movie.
I was never really one to go out and party even in my college days I would MUCH rather go shopping and then grab some food, come back, and watch a good movie LOL. I think it has to do with me being such an introvert that this really recharges my batteries. Some people get energized by going out and drinking and socializing but it’s just never been me and as I’ve gotten older I’ve learnt to embrace it so much more!
I think lately it’s been called the “millennial craze” about staying in and watching Netflix but I really do think it’s just become more acceptable in society. Anyway! today since I’m such an expert on cozying up and with fall here (eek!) I thought I would tell you all my secrets on having a cozy night in!
1. Comfy clothes – ok step one is ALWAYS change into comfy clothes when you get home. To me this means pj shorts and a soft tee with a sweatshirt on top and throwing my hair into a messy top knot!
2. Light some candles – there is something so soothing about lighting candles and making your space feel warm and cozy. You can really change the mood and ambiance by change up the scent in the room
3. Blankets – nuff said? There’s nothing cozier than snuggling up with a soft blanket in an air conditioned room watching a movie LOL
4. Tea (or hot cocoa) – I’ve talked about this before but I always drink a cup of green tea at night. I feel like it really calms me down after a hectic day and gets me in a sleepy mode.
5. Soft lighting – I feel like this is a no brainer but turn those bright lights off and turn softer table or floor lamps on! or if you have a dimmer, dim the lights down so that your brain knows its time to wind down.
And Voila! you are now ready for a cozy night in to watch Netflix, youtube, read a book, or catch up on your favorite shows! Wishing you all the coziest of nights and as always thanks for reading!
