A Sunday well spent…brings a week of content! Let’s be honest – Fridays are pretty much reserved for takeout, movie nights, or just relaxing after a long week. Saturdays are usually blocked by plans with friends, family, weddings, or wedding planning appointments if you’re me! To me, Sundays are the only day where I can get my house, food, clothes, and life in order! Today I’m sharing my top five tips to spend your Sunday right and set you up for a successful week ahead.
1. Grocery Shopping/Meal Prep – If you watch my stories you know every Sunday I do my meal prep routine. I spend some time cleaning out the fridge/pantry and taking note of items needed. Then I spend a few minutes on Pinterest to find new meals and write down any ingredients I may need. If you are feeding a family – map out lunches, dinners, and snacks with a calendar and prep things beforehand so that you can come home from work and pop them in the oven or stovetop. A calendar like this is so effective in getting this in order. Tanu Tip: Pack lunches in 5 separate containers so you can just grab and go in the mornings.
2. Laundry/Outfit Prep – Just like meal prep it’s so important to get your laundry in order for the week! And I’m not just saying that because I’m a fashion blogger lol. I find when my clothes are clean, folded, and put away it takes unnecessary stress away throughout the week. Take it a step further and lay out your outfit the night before or even all five weekday outfits! – don’t forget to check forecasts so you aren’t running around trying to find rainboots/coats while running out the door to make the train. (Clearly I have some experience in this) Tanu Tip: wash sheets, towels, bath mats and welcome mats to go a step further!
3. Fitness/Yoga – I workout about 6 times a week but it starts on Sundays. I try to do thirty minutes of HIIT cardio followed by 45 minutes of yoga. Not only does the HIIT jumpstart my workouts for the week and put me back in a fitness mode after possibly some cheat meals from Friday/Saturday, but the yoga stretches my muscles and puts me in a relaxed mindset
4. Organize/Clean – In addition to cleaning out the fridge and the laundry tips above – having a clean and organized space is so important for your mindset. Throughout the week you all probably do your dishes, wipe down countertops, and try to keep things tidy – but take it further and use this time to do some deep cleaning. Tidy anything up that is out of place, dust + vacuum, clean bathrooms, (clean makeup brushes!) and restock anything like toilet paper/toothpaste etc to remove stress throughout the week.
5. Take some time for you – After expending all this energy be sure to take some time out for yourself. Whether that’s working on your passion project, watching that netflix show, doing some hair or face masks, or reading a book – dim the lights, grab that mug of tea, light some candles and relax!
